The Closomat Palma Vita is the UK's most established wash and dry toilet (sometimes called a "shower toilet") – a single floor-standing unit that brings together a conventional WC, a warm-water bidet wash and a warm-air dryer. Purpose-built for elderly and disabled users, it lets people manage their own personal hygiene with little or no help, restoring independence, privacy and dignity in the bathroom.

This is the Standard Single Spray Douche Arm model, supplied complete with seat and lid. It can also be used exactly like an ordinary toilet at any time, so it suits every member of the household.

How the Palma Vita works

Everything runs from one simple, hands-free action. Sitting down, you press and hold the elbow pad for around 10–15 seconds to start flushing and warm-water washing; release it and the warm-air dryer takes over automatically. A brief press while standing gives a normal flush. Because no grip or fine hand movement is needed, it is genuinely easy to operate for anyone with limited dexterity.

Typical wash & dry settings

All washing and drying settings are fully adjusted to the individual user when a Closomat engineer commissions the toilet. As a general guide:

• Warm-water wash temperature: approx. 40°C
• Warm-water wash duration: approx. 10–15 seconds
• Warm-air dry duration: approx. 3 minutes
