The AKW Freelux Wet Room Kit brings together everything needed to form a level-access wet floor shower in one order — the TriForm former, the gulley waste cover, a gravity waste and a full 5m² Formsafe tanking system. Buying it as a kit removes the guesswork of matching a waste and a tanking system to the former.
At its heart is AKW's TriForm former, a hand laid-up GRP tray 22mm thick, sized to sit on an 18mm UK timber floorboard plus 4mm plywood with no packing or adjustment. Four gradient planes feed an integral trough waste that handles up to 78 litres per minute, so it keeps up with a power shower, and the former carries up to 254kg.

The Formsafe tanking is a pre-formed self-adhesive waterproof membrane — a 1mm rubberised layer with a fabric mesh backing. The 5m² kit contains a 5m x 1m roll, 500ml primer, 10m reinforcing tape and 290ml jointing compound, and is ready to tile immediately with no drying time.

Which tile thickness do I need?
The kits are identical apart from the gulley waste cover. Choose the 6–16mm cover if you are tiling with standard ceramic or porcelain tiles, and the 16–25mm cover for thicker natural stone or large-format porcelain. Measure the tile itself, not the tile plus adhesive. If you are unsure, contact us before ordering.
