AKW Onyx 2 T & L Shaped Grab Rail Chrome & Black (12805BK-LS)

This is more than a grab rail, and it is worth knowing that before you compare it on price. The Onyx 2 T & L is a full shower riser rail with a horizontal grab rail built into it — so one fitting gives you the shower height adjustment and the stability support, instead of two separate items competing for the same bit of wall.

It goes up as a T shape, an L shape, or non-handed, so the same box works whichever way the room runs and whichever side the user needs support on. The tube is triangular rather than round, which sounds like a detail but is the point: it gives the hand something to close around and resist twisting, which matters most to someone with reduced grip strength.

This version has the polished chrome rail with bold black matt-finish components.

What's in the box

• 1200mm vertical riser rail with connecting 600mm horizontal grab rail
• Lever-operated handset holder slider, height adjustable, fits either side of the riser
• Second non-handed handset holder for the exterior wall brackets — lets a seated user position the handset lower
• Soap dish and shelf with integral hose retaining holes, so the handset can't drop to the floor
• Three wall brackets with black matt-finish covers

Not supplied: shower valve or heater unit, handset, or hose.
