The 1/2 inch Grohe Euroeco Cosmopolitan E is a battery-powered infra-red basin tap built for high-traffic washrooms where mains power at the basin isn't practical. The sensor releases water only while hands are present, and the EcoJoy aerator holds flow at 5.7 litres per minute — keeping water and energy costs down across offices, schools, hotels and public buildings. A single 6V lithium battery runs for around seven years at 150 actuations a day, with a multistage status display giving early warning before it needs changing.
