AKW Swift Option E5 Half Height Shower Screens for Swift Trays (1095x795mm)

This is the Option E5 half height carer screen for the AKW Swift level access tray in 1095x795mm. Option E5 is an alternative door configuration to the standard Option E, listed separately by AKW at the same price. It is worth considering where the room layout makes the standard Option E door swing awkward.

Half height means a carer can assist from outside the enclosure and stay dry, which is the whole point of the format. The screen is 750mm high and comes in left or right hand to suit the tray.

Getting the handing right

Standing at the entry corner facing the shower, left hand means the longer door panel is on your left, right hand means it is on your right. The screen handing follows the tray handing — order the screen to match the Swift tray you have. See the handing diagram in the images above, or the specification sheet below. AKW flag this as the most common ordering mistake on half height screens.

Option E or Option E5?

Both are 750mm high, both are handed, and both are the same price. Option E is the standard bi-fold arrangement and covers every Swift tray size. Option E5 is only made for the 1095x795mm tray. If you are unsure which configuration suits your room, check with us before ordering — they are not interchangeable once fitted.

Before you specify

AKW advise two things that are worth knowing before installation. Power showers should not be specified for use with AKW shower trays and screens. And only AKW screens should be used with AKW trays — mixing manufacturers can compromise the water seals.

Bottom door seals are water barriers rather than fully waterproof. If you are pairing the screen with a shower curtain, make sure the curtain is long enough to cover the door seals.
